Facebook To Test GIFs in Facebook Comments

If you love using GIFs on Facebook you will soon be able to use GIFs in the comments section of Facebook Posts, After many years of resiting to test the GIFs, Facebook has now finally started testing the GIFs in comments.

Facebook said to TechCrunch that

“Everyone loves a good GIF and we know that people want to be able to use them in comments. So we’re about to start testing the ability to add GIFs to comments and we’ll share more when we can, but for now we repeat that this is just a test.”

Right now the posting of GIFs on comments will be enabled to only few people around the world for testing, And these GIFS can be posted same like in Facebook Messenger with simple GIF button to browser and select the various GIFs from GIF services like GIPHY and Tenor

But the users can’t still share the GIFs in the News Feed with the GIF button support as Facebook thinks that the animiated images can cause distruction while using News Feed to the users, Ofcouse which can eventuly decrease the chacne of user to interact with the Facebook Ads. So if you want to share you need to search the GIF libraries on Internet and Share in NewsFeed. And users can’t upload their own GIFs directly like a image to the Facebook news feed to share with their friends.

Back then the videos in the Facebook News Feed were autoplay which annoyed many users and burned their bandwidth, If Facebook again decides to make these GIF comments autoplay then it will create a big nucince to the users.
if the test goes well then we can see users posting funny GIFs on Facebook comments and making Facebook more interactive.
